If you believe a child is being abused
Call 911 if you believe a child is in immediate danger, if a crime has been committed against a child, is being committed against a child, or will likely be committed against a child.
In BC, the law says that anyone who suspects that a child is being abused or neglected must report it to a child welfare worker with the local Ministry of Children and Family Development office or Delegated Aboriginal Child and Family Services Agency. To make a report please call Centralized Screening at 1-800-663-9122 or 604-660-4927. This line is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
If you are a child or youth and would like to talk to someone, call the Helpline for Children at 310-1234 at any time of the day or night and you do not have to give your name.
